The Southeast Junior Talent ID Race Series is open to all junior age athletes age 13-15 and 16-19. However, minimum racing age is at the sole discretion of the race director. Series events are independently operated and entry is not guaranteed. Event directors have the right to limit the number of participants in their event. It is in the athlete’s best interest to register in advance for ALL races in which they plan to participate. The series consists of the highest-quality events in the region and many of them sell out early.
Points will be awarded at each event as outlined below (except for the F1 Challenge Triathlon where ALL athletes will receive 50 points). Athlete’s top 5 scores will be tallied to determine an overall series winner. Awards will be given for the top three overall male and female in each age category 13-15 and 16-19. In the event of a tie between two or more athletes, each head-to-head match-up will be reviewed and the winner of the greater number of said match-ups will be recognized as the winner. Ties will only be broken for the top three overall places in the series. Athletes must compete in a minimum of two events on the series to be eligible for overall series awards. Overall series winners will be announced following the series final race.
Point scoring system:
1 place = 100 points
2 place = 80 points
3 place = 60 points
4 place = 50 points
5 place = 40 points
6 place = 30 points
7th – 10th place = 20 points
All other finishers = 10 points
In the event a series race is cancelled no points will be awarded for that race. If a race is rescheduled on the same weekend (i.e. moved from Saturday to Sunday) points will be awarded. If a race is changed from a triathlon to a duathlon (run/bike or run/bike/run) points will be awarded. If a race is changed to a run only format points will not be awarded. Cancellation and course changes are at the sole discretion of the event director.
